Sans son attaquant star Kylian Mbappé, qui se remet de sa blessure à la cheville, le Real Madrid, avec Thibaut Courtois tout le match, s'est imposé sans briller mercredi chez son voisin Getafe (0-1), grâce à un but du jeune Turc Arda Güler, pour rester au contact du FC Barcelone, solide leader.
Challenger Pro League - Lokeren-Temse a fait appel de la non-obtention de sa licence et pourra recevoir le RWDM
Lokeren-Temse a finalement mis fin au suspense. Le club waeslandien de football a fait appel de la décision de la Commission des Licences de ne pas lui attribuer la licence de Jupiler Pro League la saison prochaine. Il avait jusqu'à ce mercredi minuit pour introduire un appel. Le club de Challenger Pro League a confirmé à Belga mercredi soir qu'il l'avait fait.
EK judo - Verstraeten na snelle exit: "Werd verrast, maar dat is ook judo"
De openingsdag van het EK judo in de Montenegrijnse hoofdstad Podgorica draaide op een teleurstelling voor Jorre Verstraeten (-60 kilogram) uit, met een uitschakeling in de tweede ronde. "Dit is niet het resultaat waarvoor ik gewerkt heb, maar dat hoort bij onze sport", reageerde de Leuvenaar bij persbureau Belga.
Challenger Pro League - Lokeren-Temse in beroep tegen licentieweigering, deelname aan eindronde staat vast
Lokeren-Temse heeft ten langen leste toch beroep aangetekend tegen de beslissing van de Licentiecommissie om de licentie voor de Jupiler Pro League niet toe te kennen aan de Oost-Vlaamse club. Lokeren-Temse had tot woensdag middernacht tijd om het beroep in te dienen en bevestigde woensdagavond aan Belga dat dat gebeurd is. De Waaslanders spelen donderdag (20u30) op Daknam de heenwedstrijd van de halve finales tegen RWDM.

Thijs De Ridder heeft zich met Bilbao tot eindwinnaar van de FIBA Europe Cup basket gekroond. Het Spaanse team had vorige week de heenwedstrijd van de finale tegen het Griekse PAOK mateco in eigen zaal met 72-65 gewonnen, maar verloor woensdag de return op verplaatsing met 84-82. Bilbao wint de confrontatie op basis van het doelsaldo.
