Trail: aucun finisseur sur la Barkley en 2025

"La Barkley marathon 2025 est terminée. Il n'y a aucun finisseur", a annoncé jeudi sur son compte X Keith Dunn, un proche du déroutant organisateur Lazarus Lake, dont les posts font chaque année figure de suivi en direct puis de résultats officiels.

Aucun coureur n'a réussi à boucler les 160 km (20.000 m de dénivelé positif), découpés en cinq boucles à parcourir en moins de douze heures chacune, souvent hors sentier, dans une forêt inhospitalière.

Depuis sa première édition en 1986, seules 20 personnes sont venues à bout du parcours.

Cinq avaient terminé l'aventure en 2024, dont une première femme, Jasmin Paris. Karel Sabbe était devenu, en 2023, le premier Belge à aller au bout de l'épreuve.

Filippo Ganna (Ineos Grenadiers) a été le seul à pouvoir suivre le vainqueur Mathieu van der Poel et Tadej Pogacar dans le final de Milan-Sanremo samedi. Au sprint, l'Italien s'est finalement classé 2e derrière le Néerlandais et devant le champion du monde slovène.

Filippo Ganna (Ineos Grenadiers) was de enige die zaterdag winnaar Mathieu van der Poel en hoofdrolspeler Tadej Pogacar wist bij te houden in de finale van Milaan-Sanremo. "Die twee hebben mij enkele jaren van mijn leven gekost", lachte de imposante Italiaan na afloop in de tv-interviews.

CSI-jumping-Parijs - Gregory Wathelet en Gilles Thomas derde en vierde in Le Saut Hermès

Gregory Wathelet en Gilles Thomas zijn zaterdag derde en vierde geworden in Le Saut Hermés, hoofdrubriek van de tweede dag van de vijfsterrenjumping van Parijs. Beide Belgen moesten in de eerste van twee rondes vier strafpunten noteren. In de tweede bleven ze wel foutloos en was Wathelet met Bond Jamesbond 51 honderdsten sneller dan de Belgische kampioen met Qalista.
