Milaan-Sanremo - Soudal Quick-Step trekt na afhaken van Paul Magnier zonder sterren naar Primavera

Magnier zou zaterdag zijn debuut maken in Milaan-Sanremo, maar de twintigjarige Fransman kwam afgelopen zondag tweemaal ten val in de slotrit van Tirreno-Adriatico. Magnier liep daarbij geen erg zware blessures op, maar toch komt de Primavera te snel in zijn herstel.

Bij afwezigheid van Magnier komt Soudal Quick-Step zaterdag aan de start met Ayco Bastiaens, de Italiaan Mattia Cattaneo, de Tsjech Josef Cerny, de Deen Casper Pedersen, de Nederlander Pepijn Reinderink, de Duitser Maximilian Schachmann en de Slovaak Martin Svrcek.

"We hebben geen topfavoriet, maar dat betekent niet dat we het niet goed willen doen. Het is onze mentaliteit om elke keer het beste van onszelf te geven", zegt sportdirecteur Davide Bramati. "Milaan-Sanremo is een wedstrijd waar alles mogelijk is, zoals de geschiedenis heeft laten zien."

De voorlopers van Soudal Quick-Step wonnen dankzij Paolo Bettini (2003), Filippo Pozzato (2006) en Julian Alaphilippe (2019) driemaal Milaan-Sanremo.

Cape Epic - Wout Alleman abandonne après une nuit à l'hôpital et des problèmes gastriques

Le champion de Belgique de marathon en moutainbike Wout Alleman a abandonné le Cape Epic, samedi à l'avant-dernier jour de la célèbre épreuve de VTT disputée en Afrique du Sud. Le Flandrien a passé la nuit de vendredi à samedi à l'hôpital en raison d'intenses problèmes gastriques, mais il a été autorisé à quitter l'hôpital dans la matinée.

Cape Epic - Ritwinnaar Wout Alleman verlaat race na nacht in ziekenhuis door maagproblemen

Belgisch marathonmountainbikekampioen Wout Alleman is op de voorlaatste dag van de Cape Epic uit de Zuid-Afrikaanse wedstrijd gestapt. De West-Vlaming belandde in de nacht van vrijdag op zaterdag door intense maagproblemen in het ziekenhuis, maar heeft dat intussen mogen verlaten.

F1 - GP de Chine - Oscar Piastri s'offre sa première pole devant George Russell

Oscar Piastri s'élancera de la pole position au départ du Grand Prix de Chine de Formule 1, dimanche à 15 heures locales (8 heures belges). Au volant de sa McLaren, l'Australien a signé le meilleur chrono de la Q3 des qualifications samedi sur le circuit international de Shanghaï en 1:30.641 et s'est ainsi offert, à 23 ans, sa première pole en carrière à son 48e Grand Prix.
