Zvonimir Boban keert terug bij Dinamo Zagreb als algemeen directeur

"Ik kwam op 1 september 1982 voor het eerst het Maksimirstadion binnen en het gevoel is nog steeds hetzelfde", zei Boban op een persconferentie in Zagreb.

"Drie dagen geleden zei ik dat we er alles aan zouden doen om Zvone terug naar de club te halen, en vandaag is hij er", klopte huidig algemeen directeur Zvonimir Manenica zich op de borst. Boban zal Manenica op 1 juni opvolgen.

Boban begon zijn carrière bij Dinamo Zagreb en beleefde later gloriedagen bij AC Milan. Hij pakte met de Rossoneri vier Italiaanse titels en won de Champions League in 1994. Milan verhuurde Boban ook twee keer, aan Bari en Celta de Vigo.

De middenvelder was de aanvoerder van het Kroatische elftal dat in 1998 op het WK in Frankrijk verrassend brons veroverde. Het was voor Kroatië de eerste deelname aan een WK voetbal.

Na zijn spelerscarrière werd Boban snel een bestuurder. Bij Wereldvoetbalbond FIFA was hij assistent-secretaris-generaal (2016-2019). Bij de UEFA vervulde hij de functie van directeur voetbal (2021-2024).

Nina Sterckx a remporté mardi la médaille d'argent dans la catégorie des moins de 59 kg aux championnats d'Europe d'haltérophilie de Chisinau, en Moldavie. La Gantoise de 22 ans a terminé première à l'arraché (94 kg) mais seulement troisième à l'épaulé-jeté (113 kg) pour un total de 207 kg.

EK gewichtheffen - Zilveren medaille voor Nina Sterckx in -59 kg

Nina Sterckx heeft dinsdag op het EK gewichtheffen in de Moldavische hoofdstad Chisinau een zilveren medaille veroverd in de klasse tot 59 kg. De 22-jarige Gentse was vooraf de grote favoriete voor de Europese titel, maar kwam niet verder dan een eindtotaal van 207 kg.
