Bundesliga - Nederlandse doelman Mark Flekken trekt naar Leverkusen

De 31-jarige Flekken komt over van het Engelse Brentford. De Oranje-international speelde al eerder in Duitsland, voor SC Freiburg, MSV Duisburg, Greuther Fürth en Alemannia Aachen.

Ronde van Groot-Brittannië - Kimberley Le Court Pienaar wint openingsetappe na sprint met twee

Kimberley Le Court Pienaar (AG Insurance-Soudal) heeft donderdag de openingsetappe van de tiende Ronde van Groot-Brittannië (2. WWT), met start in Dalby Forest en aankomst na 81,5 kilometer in Redcar, op haar naam gebracht. De 29-jarige kampioene van Mauritius haalde het van de Amerikaanse Kristen Faulkner (EF Education-Oatly). De Nederlandse Lorena Wiebes (SD Worx-Protime) won de spurt van een achtervolgende groep voor de derde plaats.

Critérium du Dauphiné - Mathieu van der Poel staat ondanks polsbreukje toch aan de start

Mathieu van der Poel zal zondag dan toch aan de start staan van het Criterium du Dauphiné (2.UWT). De 30-jarige Nederlander liep twee weken geleden nog een breukje in de pols op, maar is voldoende hersteld om zijn rentree te maken. Dat bevestigde zijn Belgische team Alpecin-Deceuninck donderdag via sociale media.
