Ronde van Vlaanderen - Jenno Berckmoes na valpartij met hersenschudding afgevoerd naar ziekenhuis

"Jenno Berckmoes is zwaar ten val gekomen tijdens het eerste deel van de koers. Hij liep een hersenschudding, een hoofdletsel en meerdere schaafwonden op. Hij verblijft momenteel ter observatie in het ziekenhuis. We wensen hem veel sterkte en een spoedig herstel", klonk het bij Lotto.

Voor de 24-jarige Berckmoes was het zijn derde opeenvolgende deelname aan de Ronde vaan Vlaanderen, maar ook zijn tweede opgave op drie jaar tijd. Vorig jaar haalde hij als 44e voor het eerst de finish, vorige week werd hij achtste in Gent-Wevelgem.

Ronde van het Baskenland - Schachmann herrijst met tijdritwinst: "Ben Soudal Quick-Step erg dankbaar"

De Duitser Maximilian Schachmann heeft zijn Belgische ploeg Soudal Quick-Step maandag een overwinning bezorgd in de openingstijdrit van de Ronde van het Baskenland. Dat was zijn eerste succes op WorldTour-niveau in vier jaar tijd. "Ik voel me overrompeld", reageerde hij.
