Laver Cup keert in 2026 terug naar Londen

De Zwitser is een van de drijvende krachten achter de organisatie. "Mijn laatste match in 2022 was heel emotioneel en ik hou er onvergetelijke herinneringen aan over. Omringd door mijn teamgenoten, die ook mijn grootste rivalen waren, heb ik alles beleefd waar ik kon van dromen. Ik kijk ernaar uit terug te keren naar deze speciale plaats, dit keer als fan, en de ongelofelijke sfeer van de Laver Cup opnieuw te voelen."

Het evenement, genoemd naar de Australische tennislegende Rod Laver, bestaat uit een competitie waarin twee ploegen van zes spelers gedurende drie dagen een reeks enkel- en dubbelmatchen afwerken. De eerste editie vond plaats in 2017 in Praag. Dit jaar is San Francisco gaststad van 19 tot 21 september.

Yanina Wickmayer va mettre un terme à sa carrière de joueuse de tennis. L'Anversoise de 35 ans disputera Roland-Garros, dont le tableau final débute dimanche, et Wimbledon (30 juin - 13 juillet) avant de quitter le circuit, a annoncé vendredi matin celle qui a atteint le 12e rang mondial en avril 2010 et le dernier carré de l'US Open en 2009.
